My 25lb dog ate 200mg ibuprofen. Is that dose dangerous for her?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Pembroke Welsh Corgi | Female | spayed | 25 lbs

My dog is a corgi, about 25-30 pounds. She possibly ate a 200 mg pill of ibuprofen. Will she be okay?

That is a high dose for her weight which can lead to an upset stomach and potentially ulcers but unlikely to lead to kidney or liver damage since it was a single dose and not repetitive. Make sure to feed her small frequent meals to help keep food in her stomach and I would add an anti acid such as Pepcid A/C to help. If you notice any vomiting or decreased appetite then I would get her checked by a vet
