My puppy ate a grape and vomited. Should I worry about kidney failure?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Pomeranian | Male | unneutered | 3 months and 17 days old | 6.17 lbs

Hi my puppy Pomeranian ate 1 small grape at 4pm and vomited at 2am. He vomits often anyway but I wasn't sure weather it was a sign of kidney failure.. he isn't acting unwell and has peed soon after vomiting. Do I need to worry? Thanks Ellissa

It may or may not be related as no one knows the toxic dose of grapes and it can vary between dogs. If there is no change in appetite or an increase in drinking and he is acting normal then you can continue to watch him. If you notice any of those symptoms irnhe continues to vomit then I would get him checked
