Why does my dog have itchy lumps on his back, hair loss, and bleeding?

My dog is 3 years old and had firm, itchy, lumps under his skin where he keeps biting and has cause hair loss and some to bleed. What are They? There are only 4 on his lower back all together. Pet's info: Dog | American Pit Bull Terrier | Male | 3 years and 2 months old | 90 lbs
