Why is my dog throwing up and having diarrhea after eating?

Myixed dachshund keeps throwing up and having diarrhea. He seems a bit better than yesterday though. Maybe he ate something he wasn’t supposed to eat? (As he likes getting on the dinner table when no ones around to pick off left overs). Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Small (up to 22lb) | Male | unneutered | 1 year and 3 months old | 8 lbs

Diarrhea and vomiting Hi there. It sounds like Thor has a gastrointestinal infection which can be caused by bacteria, intolerance to something he ate, parasites or a virus. With the loose stool and continued vomiting, I would recommend that you take him to a vet. They can do a physical exam and a fecal test and once they know what’s going on they can get him the treatment he needs to feel better. Vomiting and diarrhea can cause dehydration so seeing your vet soon would be best for Thor. I hope that helps and thanks for using Pet Coach.
