My kitten won't eat or drink. Is he sick? What can I do to help?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Male | 1 month and 5 days old | 2 lbs

Same as my previous (sadly now dead) cat Mixer, this cat won't eat nor drink. I'm not sure about the breed (black and has barely any white on his paws and under his nexk and near the poo-poo hole) We nursed him with milk and water mixed together and with Whiska's little kitty food. He just won't eat or drink. For now we force feed him but it barely gets any food in him. He looks and poops normal, he is crying, his mom left him when he was 3 weeks old. I really don't know what to do... Help!

Since one of the kittens from this litter has already died and this one has become ill as well, I would recommend taking him in to be checked out by a veterinarian as soon as possible. Your kitten may be suffering from a viral disease or intestinal parasites or something else that is making him very sick. He will likely need a lot of support of care including fluids and antibiotics to help get him well. I hope this helps. Best of luck.
