My 9-week-old kitten has fleas. Can she get safe vet treatment?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Female | unspayed | 2 months and 28 days old | 0.08 lbs

I adopted 2 cats. One is 7 months and uptodate with vaccines. The other is 9 weeks never seen by vet. They both have a very minor case of fleas. They both scratch their ears and I found a small flea on the 9wo. Is it crucial for me to have her seen by a vet and if so are there flea treatments available to her at this young age?

Flea treatments are available at the age of 9 weeks, in fact you can use most flea treatment brand from this age, she is also at the age to start her vaccinations so i strongly recommend to take her to the vet.
