Hello, & thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. While chocolate can be toxic, a dog needs to eat quite a bit to get sick. The general rule of thumb is a dog has to eat about 0.7 ounces per pound to become sick. So if the Snickers was greater than 4.9 ounces, there is a chance of toxicity. Now the fact that she vomited is a good thing, especially if it was within 30 minutes of eating the candy, & you were able to recognize most of the chocolate in the vomitus. If you are at all unsure, please call you veterinarian who may recommend further decontamination for Missy. If you are pretty sure she threw most of the bar up, just watch her carefully over the rest of the day for any further vomiting, diarrhea, restlessness & excessive panting. Hopefully, all will be fine. Take care.
