My husky's spay incision looks healed. Is it safe without a cone?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Siberian Husky | Female | spayed | 8 months and 12 days old | 50 lbs

So my 8 month old husky just got spayed last Monday the 23rd, she was not spayed at her regular vet. She got desolvable stitches and the instructions from the vet said she can have the cone on for 7-10 days depending on how good her surgery has been healing, and she decided to break her cone today and there’s no way in fixing it. Was wondering if it’s okay that it’s off now or I would have to purchase another cone. thank you. The photo I’ve attached is from today

The incision looks almost healed. I think it is fine to leave the cone off as long as she isn’t licking the incision. If she starts licking then I would consider purchasing another cone. I hope this helps!
