This is not normal. I would take Sunny to a veterinarian right away. He can breathe through his mouth but that amount of bleeding is worrisome. They will examine him and look for something in the nostril, a bleeding mass or a reason for the nosebleed. They may recommend a blood panel and to check his clotting function. This could be a serious problem so please take Sunny in soon. Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach to help you care for Sunny.

If Buddy's nose is actively bleeding without stopping and he can't breathe it is best to seek emergency care immediately. It is possible there is something stuck in the nose causing bleeding such as a foreign body or tumor, or something causing a bleeding disorder that should be addressed right away. If your regular vet can't find the cause, meeting with a specialist is a good idea for further testing and treatment to try and get the bleeding under control.
