Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Male | unneutered | 20 days old

Hi, I have adopted an orphan kitty around 10-12 days old. I am feeding it with a kitty milk from the pet store. for the last two days it's poop is almost liquid and yellow in color. The kitty seems to be active and eating normally. However, she is pooping almost every 3 hrs or so.

Hello, sorry to hear about Lisa. It could be that the change in food could be causing the diarrhea and she needs some time to adjust to the new diet. Additionally, she could be infested with intestinal parasites that may be contributing to the diarrhea. Finally, some viral infections can cause diarrhea as well. If the diarrhea does not resolve in the next 2-3 days then you should have Lisa evaluated by a veterinarian. Also monitor for any signs of lethargy, decreased appetite, or vomiting and have her evaluated by a veterinarian if you note any of these. Hope this helps and best of luck.

Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Kitten milk formulas can sometimes cause diarrhea or even constipation. I recommend getting a second brand of kitten formula and mixing it 50:50 with the one you have. I recommend bottle fed kittens be weaned early, as soon as 3-4 weeks due to these problems with the formula. I hope this helps and I wish you the best!
