Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Labrador Retriever | Female | unspayed | 1 year and 8 months old | 57.2 lbs

we are so devastated about the condition of uling. she has hip dysplasia but we were told that it is ok for her to get pregnant. on her third week of pregnancy, she suddenly fell down, can't walk, refuse to eat. a clear sign of the pain on her hips.. do we need to abort the puppies? is she gonna die soon?. we are the one to blame, uling does not deserve this. please forgive us for being such an irresponsible dog owners.

Hi there and thanks for posting! I am sorry to hear about Uling. There may be other causes to her recent symptoms other than just hip pain, so I would recommend Uling see a veterinarian very soon to rule out other causes such as an infection, fracture, or ligament tear. If she is not able to deliver normally, she may need a scheduled C-section. She may still be able to have her puppies, but finding out what is causing her symptoms first at a vet hospital should be the first step. I hope this helps and thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach!
