Hello, sorry to hear about Brutus. A decreased appetite and lethargy are non-specific sings that something is not well. This could be anything from an infection to a mass. This could also be temporary and resolve on its own within the next 2-3 days, however, the ideal next step is to have him evaluated by his veterinarian. They will likely require to obtain some bloodwork and x-rays or and abdominal ultrasound. In the interim, you may feed him a bland diet of plain white rice, skinless and boneless boiled chicken, and low fat cottage cheese. Hope this helps and best of luck.

Anorexia, or refusing to eat, is usually an indication of an underlying problem. I would be concerned that in a few days Brutus will become very ill because of what is going on. I would recommend taking Brutus in to see your vet so they can determine what is going on. They may recommend doing some blood work and X-rays. The problem may be something simple like intestinal parasites or something more complicated like a metabolic disorder affecting the liver or kidneys. I’m sorry Brutus isn’t acting like himself. I hope this helps. Hanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. Best of luck.
