My 19 yr. old Russian Blue cat is not eating, has lost weight and is now down to 7 lbs. (she was 9 a year ago) and the vet suspected hyper-thyroid then. She's just very listless, has changed where she sleeps, and is urinating in our bedroom, in the same corner daily, so her habits have changed. I know she needs lad tests but anything I can do for her til then?

Hi and thanks for posting on Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! I am sorry to hear your cat is not feeling very well. Hyperthyroidism is very common in cats and needs to be confirmed with a blood test that measures Total Thyroid hormone. Try and make her as comfortable as possible-offer a tasty wet food she may enjoy. Boiled chicken and rice also works well for cats that aren't feeling well. Fresh water from a pet fountain can encourage her to drink more water. Feliway pheromone spray can help ease tension. I hope you are able to take her to her vet for bloodwork soon so she can get on some thyroid medication if warranted. I hope she feels better soon!
