My cat won't eat, is lethargic, hiding, and showing behavior changes.

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Female | spayed | 5 years and 11 months old | 15 lbs

Hello, my name is Matthew and I am concerned about my cat spotty. She is showing abrupt behavioral changes and has difficulty eating. When she goes to eat or drink she goes to sniff the food as if she wants it bu then does not touch it. When I saw her outside she tried to eat a piece of grass indicating as if she had digestions issues then yelped in pain. She is also very tired and lethargic and is starting to hide a lot. I am concerned it could be rabies but would like any advice on what it is.

If she is having trouble eating then she could have a problem with her teeth and have some pain when eating. Lethargy is a very non-specific sign and can be caused by many things, including infections, kidney disease, liver disease, endocrine diseases, etc. Your vet could run lab-work to determine the cause and treat. The signs are not typical of rabies and if she has been fully vaccinated then it is unlikely the cause but she should be examined by your vet if you have any concerns.
