My dog has recurring crusty sores and hair loss. What's the cause?

My dog -a PBGV IS GETTING HARD CRUSTY SORES THAT KEEP COMING BACK. Has had antibiotics and shots but still gets them all over some hair is falling out

Since they are healing with the treatment now the issue is to find the cause. This is most likely a food or inhalant allergy. With flea allergy the hair loss and itching is usually over the back and by the tail. I recommend giving medicated baths weekly and using the medications prescribed as directed. Talk with your veterinarian about doing a food trial or allergy testing. Skin problems can be difficult to control unless you know the reason Daisy is getting them. Once you get a diagnosis then controlling the skin infections becomes easier. Many dogs still need to stay on some medications but they should be able to prevent a severe recurring infection.
