My dog -a PBGV IS GETTING HARD CRUSTY SORES THAT KEEP COMING BACK. Has had antibiotics and shots but still gets them all over some hair is falling out. Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Medium (23 - 60lb) | Female | spayed | 6 years and 5 months old | 45 lbs

Since they are healing with the treatment now the issue is to find the cause. This is most likely a food or inhalant allergy. With flea allergy the hair loss and itching is usually over the back and by the tail. I recommend giving medicated baths weekly and using the medications prescribed as directed. Talk with your veterinarian about doing a food trial or allergy testing. Skin problems can be difficult to control unless you know the reason Daisy is getting them. Once you get a diagnosis then controlling the skin infections becomes easier. Many dogs still need to stay on some medications but they should be able to prevent a severe recurring infection.
