Why is my 9-month-old dog having hind leg trouble and hunching back?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

My 9 month old dog is having trouble using his hind legs and he sits down really odd. although I have rubbed/squeezed every bit of the bottom half of his body but nothing hurts, including his pelvic and stomach area. He also cannot get comfortable. And when he he walks he hunches his back. he does not have any wounds either. Does this sound familiar to anyone? I'm extremely worried!!

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! I recommend taking him to a vet for an exam. I would be concerned his bones may not have formed right after birth or something could be out of place. They will probably need to take x-rays of his spine and hips to see the joints clearly. If anything, they can send home some medications to ease his discomfort. Good luck and kisses to your pup!
