Do vets charge per kitten or per litter for their first vaccinations?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Female | unspayed | 0 lbs

I rescued a cat and later found out she was pregnant. The babies are 3 weeks. When I get them vaccinated, is it common practice that their is a different Fee for a litter of new babies or is it common to be charged for each individual kitten?

Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! I have worked at 3 different hospitals over the last 12 1/2 years and each practice just charges a litter exam fee and does not charge for each kitten. I would just call the vet you plan on taking them too just to be sure, but I think it is pretty common place to just charge one fee for all the kittens. I hope this helps and have a great day!
