My puppy has whitehead pimples on her face and chin. What should I do?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Bulldog | Female | unspayed | 2 months and 9 days old | 15 lbs

Our 9wk old Olde English Bulldogge has just started developing little whitehead pimples on her temples and forhead and under her chin. They don't seem to be bothering her at all but not sure if I should leave them, or try changing her food, or taking her in? They started 1 day after changing her food but think that might be coinsidental.

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! I’m sorry to hear Hazel is having skin issues. Puppies can get “puppy acne,” which can be similar to what you are describing. Alternatively, skin infections (bacterial), skin parasites, allergies or another underlying issue can cause similar signs. If they are itchy, spread, or start to pop, I would recommend having them evaluated by her regular veterinarian. Good luck!
