My dog has a spot she keeps scratching and licking. What should I put on her sore?

Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Poor Olivia! Based on your picture it looks like Olivia has a hot spot, which are superficial skin infections. Hot spots can spread quickly. I recommend shaving the fur off and round the area. Clean well and dry. Apply triple antibiotic ointment twice daily. She needs to wear an Elizabethan Collar (cone) or donut. It is VERY important that she not lick or chew the area. If the area hasn't improve in 2-3 days she should be seen by your Vet for antibiotics and steroids. I hope this helps and I wish Olivia a speedy recovery!
