Pet's info: Dog | Miniature Pinscher | Male | unneutered | 5 months old | 2 lbs
My 15 week old minpin chihuahua mix pup ate a piece of my inside cats poop that had worms on it. Cat hadn't been treated at that time. Pup has been vomiting & has had diarrhea for 2 days & has been syringe fed 1/2 water 1/2 Pedialyte frequently throughout. yesterday 1 of his runny poops included a bunch of dead worms. (Gave pup 1/16 tsp raw ground pumpkin seed ) Pup still not interested in eating & no longer has diarrhea. Want to try kefir yogurt next. Should I continue Pedialyte water mix ?

Hello, sorry to hear about MoMo. As long as he is not vomitin, you can continue to feed him the Pedialyte. Ultimately, it sounds like he needs to have his stool tested and dewormed against the appropriate parasites. Heavy parasitism can be dangerous and can lead to severe side effects including death. If he is otherwise eating and acting normally then he can wait to see his veterinarian in the morning. However, if you think he is feeling ill, is not eating, is very lethargic, weak, continues to vomit or have severe diarrhea, then he should be seen by a veterinarian sooner. The pumpkin is good, i would recommend just feeding regular pumpkin not necessarily seed. Other things you can try include plain white rice, boneless and skinless boiled chicken, and cottage cheese low fat. Best of luck and hope this helps.
