Poor Ariel! Itching and scratching can be a sign of external parasites like fleas, or allergies to food or things in the environment. If she is already on a good flea preventative from your veterinarian you may want to make an appointment to discuss the potential for allergies. If her skin appears red, if she has any hair loss, or if you see scabs or crusty areas you should definitely see your veterinarian since these could be signs of a skin infection. Your veterinarian can talk to you about tests to differentiate food allergies from environmental allergies and discuss treatments.
