I'm working on potty training a slightly order puppy, she's 9 months, and we've gotten her to successfully pee outside, but generally only if we carry her through the hallway and/ or down the steps. Otherwise she'll pee before she makes it outside (she is on her period so she is peeing more often, but we've just increased the amount of times we take her out each day) do you think carrying her will hinder her potty training long term?

I do not think this will hinder her potty training. A lot of puppies are just unable to hold it so when they think it is time to go they just pee! Carrying her helps to teach her to hold it until she gets to the right spot outside. As she gets older this should improve. Also, if she is squatting several times while outside, I would have your vet check to make sure she doesn't have a urinary tract infection. i hope this helps!
