My chihuahua hates the vet and bites. How to calm him for visits?

so i have a chihuahua. he hates the vet. hes about 6-7 years old and was abused as a pup. he cant be muzzled and he will pee or bite if he gets too scare. what should i do? Pet's info: Dog | Chihuahua | Male | neutered | 5 lbs

Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Poor Pucci! I recommend calling a Vet to ask for a sedative you can give to him before his visit. There are many options now: acepromazine, trazadone, etc. The hope would be that the medications will calm him enough he could be muzzled or sedated for an exam. I hope this helps and good luck!
