My puppy still has diarrhea and won't eat after deworming. What now?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | German Shepherd | Female | unspayed | 3 months and 13 days old | 25 lbs

I Brought my puppy home a week ago, she was having mucous stools and were loose. She would barely eat this entire week I have had her. A day or two later I found worms in her stool. I bought fenbendazole and it has been the third day/pouch and she was having a lot of worms pass but now on the third day I have not seen any more worms. She is still having diarrhea and is not eating. What should I do now? Why is she not eating and why is she still having diarrhea?

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Not every dewormer treats all intestinal parasites. She could have something that you haven't treated for. Also, you may not always see parasites with the naked eye, most you need a microscope to see. I would also be concerned about other illnesses like parvovirus. I recommend taking Kaja to the vet with a fresh stool sample to have an exam and check the stool for other infections. Good luck and kisses to Kaja!
