My stray cat's eye is swollen. Is it an infection? What can I do?

This looks like a mild case of conjunctivitis. Younger cats tend to get conjunctivitis when they are out on the street and interacting with other cats. The cause is often a virus and they can usually clear the infection on their own, so no specific treatment is needed at this time. Keep the eye clean by applying a cloth soaked in warm water to the outside of the eye twice a day. Try to clean up any gunk that's there. If you start to notice yellow/green discharge, then this would indicate that the infection is getting complicated and Lucchi will need prescription medication for this. You would have to take her to your vet, or a shelter to get her help in that case. I hope that helps and Lucchi gets better soon.
