Hello and thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! The lesion on the top of the nose may be caused by an allergy, mosquito bite hypersensitivity, ringworm, autoimmune disease, bacterial infection or a fungal of yeast infection. I'd recommend taking Maestro to see your veterinarian so that samples of the area can be taken and evaluated under the microscope. There's a good chance Maestro will need an antibiotic or another type of medication to resolve the issue. Best of luck to you and Maestro!

Hi and thank you for your question on Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! It is hard to say exactly what the cause could be sight unseen, but I can certainly offer a few possibilities. Mites can cause something similar as well as a fungal infection. These can both be itchy. Your veterinarian will diagnose a fungal, mite, or bacterial infection for a few simple skin tests. I hope this helps and I hope you can take Maestro in to see his veterinarian soon!
