Why is my new indoor cat shedding excessively all of a sudden?

Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Shorthair | Female | spayed | 5 months and 28 days old | 5.5 lbs

My cat short hair is shedding excessively. I just adopted her a month ago. Her excessive shedding just started. She is an indoor cat.

Some cats can shed more than others and it may be normal for her. It can also be a sign of allergies, a food intolerance or skin disease. If she has any hair loss, is grooming excessively or if her skin looks red underneath I would recommend having her examined by your veterinarian. Otherwise you may just need to brush her more frequently!
