Wet tail is a very serious disease in hamsters. If you think that your hamster has wet tail, he/she needs to be seen by a vet immediately. Even with treatment, many hamsters will die from this disease. The chance of survival increases is treatment is started right away.

Wet tail is a very serious disease in hamsters and can be fatal. He should be examined by a vet to determine the exact cause of his problem. Once diagnosed, your vet can prescribe medications to treat.

Any hamster with wet tail should be examined by a vet as usually antibiotics are needed if you want to give him any chance at survival. This is a very bad disease to have and even with treatment, they often die. ( https://www.petcoach.co/article/wet-tail-regional-enteritis-proliferative-ileitis-in-hamste/ ) If you are unable to get him to a vet all you can do is try to keep him hydrated. He can continue to drink mom's milk but you should also syringe feed some diluted electrolyte solution. Be sure to clean the housing, change the bedding daily and wash your hands before and after handling him. That is really all you can do on your own.

She should be examined by your veterinarian or a vet experienced in treating pocket pets. Wet tail requires antibiotics and supportive care to treat infection and prevent dehydration. In the meantime, clean and sanitize the cage and change the bedding frequently until she sees the vet.
