My cat has a hairless spot with a lesion on its leg. Is it ringworm?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | American Shorthair | Male

My cat has a patch of fur musing on his leg with a small lesion in the middle. It doesn't seem to bother him and he is not licking or biting it. His behavior seems unchanged thus far. I thought it might be ringworm but it looks a bit different than some of the photos I've seen (the patch of hair is oblong and irregular, only one point of skin irritation). Any help would be appreciated!

i wouldn't trust the pictures regarding ringworm, as it can come in many different forms in cats, it doesn't always have a typical look. if it seems to be persistent after morethan 2 weeks, i would advise having it checked by your vet, including a ringworm test.
