It can be several weeks depending on the severity of the sprain. If there is ligament damage, surgery may be indicated. This would need to be diagnosed by your veterinarian. If Lola suffered a strain (this involves muscle or tendon, not ligaments), you may be able to manage her at home using the RICE method which involves Rest, Ice, Compression, and Elevation. Your vet can instruct you in how to safely wrap a sore limb.
