My dog has a bony lump on her side. Could it be a floating rib?

I was giving my pug a bath and found what felt like a bony lump on her right side. She doesn't seem to be bothered by it and is eating as normal. She's even her playful self. Any ideas on what it could be? Pet's info: Dog | Pug | Female | unspayed | 15 lbs

Depending on where it is, you might be feeling one of her floating ribs. The very last rib does not attach to the sternum so the end of it can sometimes be felt. If you are concerned or the lump increases in size than have your vet take a look at her to determine the exact cause.
