Can I use a flea collar on my nursing dog with 2-week-old puppies?

Eris has 2 week old puppies. She also has fleas, can I put a flea collar on her yet? And do those $5 ones work?

Hi there. I don't typically recommend flea collars for lactating (nursing) females. Oral medications like capstar are considered safe for lactating mothers and are relatively inexpensive. Other medications are available through your vet that are safe for nursing mothers. Please don't purchase other over the counter medications for your female-some of them can be quite dangerous. I hope this helps!
