My cat has scabs and fleas. What can I do from home to help?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Female | unspayed | 5 months and 24 days old | 3 lbs

3 weeks ago noticed small scabs on my cat. Figured my dog was being too aggressive when they played so stoped letting god play rough. Thought all was fine except a week ago noticed it was a tad bigger also noticed fleas so treated her and my dog with advantage and had my house fogged. This morning woke up and she has this!!! I can't afford a vet trip, if I can avoid it. Please let me know if I can do anything from home.

It would take at least 2-3weeks after flea treatment to see significant improvement but of she is still itchy or the sores are moist she should be assessed by a vet for infections also. Regular flea prevention and an omega fatty acid supplement such as viacutan is recommended
