Pet's info: Dog | Pit Bull Terrier | Female | unspayed | 5 months and 3 days old | 30 lbs
Walked with my dog outside, and noticed under her eye started swelling! I think she was stung/bitten by something. Just worried, but didn't want to take her to the vet for nothing. She's acting her normal, silly self. Just swelling under her eye.

It is possible she was stung or it could be that something has lodged itself in her eye. I am so sorry to hear that Millie is experiencing these problems with her eye. Thank you for providing an excellent picture, it seems very swollen. Start by placing an e-collar or cone on Millie to prevent scratching or rubbing. If the eye is infected it is likely painful, this will prompt Millie to scratch or rub her eye. However, this could inflict further damage, infection or even an ulceration. Because eye concerns with dogs, such as infections, corneal ulcerations, cataracts and glaucoma, can progress rapidly I would have her examined by your veterinarian to diagnose the issue. The precise medication can then be dispensed by your veterinarian. Please do not attempt to treat an eye infection at home with any over the counter medications, drops or ointments. This can lead to permanent damage and unnecessary pain or discomfort. Some pet owners find Benadryl helpful in these circumstances; https://www.petcoach.co/article/6-human-medications-that-are-sometimes-safe-for-sick-pets/ I hope this answer was helpful and that Millie feels better soon. Warmest regards to you both!
