Hi and thanks for your question. It is common for puppies to bite while they are teething. Like babies, they also like to explore and place things in their mouth. The best thing to do is to hide your hands while playing with Oreo and hide your hands when he tries to bite them. Offer a chew toy instead. Never take away unless you replace with something more appropriate like a toy. He will learn to associate toys as appropriate, hands are not. If your hand is hurt in any way, please contact your nearest MD. I hope this helps!

Play biting and nipping is very common in young puppies. Think of it as a toddler, and like toddlers, puppies explore the world with their mouths. You can yelp, and get up and walk away when your puppy bites too hard to help teach him what is appropriate play and comfortable or not. Once calm, you can redirect him to a toy to chew on instead, and be sure to praise him when he chews on it to help teach him that's what you'd like him to do.
