My dog's red eye has a white bump, rubbing. Is it cherry eye?

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Medium (23 - 60lb) | Male | neutered | 36 lbs

My dog has one eye that is red and looks like a white bump coming out from the bottom corner he is also using his paw to rub it all the time will salt water solution help got really bad in about 4 hours

It looks like Jackson may have a cherry eye, or prolapsed third eyelid gland. While it's likely not a medical emergency, it's probably uncomfortable for him so I would take him to your vet as soon as you can. They may want to make sure the eye itself is not damaged and try to replace the gland. He may need eye medication. If this problem recurs sometimes surgery may be needed to tack the gland into place.
