Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Poor Danny! Yes, hip dysplasia can affect just one hip. But there are many other causes of sudden limping. They are: strain or sprain, ACL tear, lyme disease and panoseitis (which is common in young German shepherds). Since it has been 3 days I recommend you Danny evaluated by your Vet, that way they can help give you a diagnosis and the proper treatment. Sometime sit is best to sedate dogs for orthopedic X-rays. Good luck!
