Hi there and thank you for posting your question! The patchy hair loss that you are seeing on spots leg maybe due to one of several possible things. If spot has had a history of chronic allergies, this may be secondary to him chewing and licking at his legs. The other possibility is that this may be a skin Mite infection such as Demodex or scabies. I would contact your veterinarian and schedule an appointment to have spot examined. Your vet will likely perform additional Diagnostics on the skin such as a skin scrape to rule out skin mites. Once your vet is able to determine what the primary cause of the hair loss and irritation is, spot can receive the most appropriate treatment. If you are unable to get to your veterinarian right away, you can try starting spot on topical therapy. I would suggest using duoxo chlorhexidine PS combination and giving Benadryl at a dose of 50mg every 8-12 hours. I hope this helps, and spot gets better soon! Please let me know if you have any additional questions or concerns. I am also available via consultation.
