In small dogs a sudden drop in blood sugar can cause seizures. This often happens if they are sick or not eating well. Another cause is being an epileptic which her age fits will. This is seizures for an unknown reason. In rare instances, usually old, geriatric dogs, brain tumors are a possibility. There is blood work and imaging your vet can do to determine what his cause is and medications that can be used to decreased the frequency of seizures and the severity.
