My dog keeps gagging but is eating and acting normal. What's wrong?

Good morning. My female dog, Amaya has been experiencing this weird gagging sensation since Thursday night. Friday she seemed to get better but I'm still not sure what's going on. She doesn't have any other weird symptom, shes also eating okay. Whenever she begins to gag I massage her throat and that helps it stop. But I'm not sure what else I can do to help her out. Anything is much appreciated, thank you. Pet's info: Dog | Pit Bull Terrier | Female | spayed | 50 lbs

This can be from a respiratory infection and excess drainage, she may have eaten something that irritated or scratched her throat if it was sharp or too big of a piece. Since she is coughing things up, it is best to have her checked by a vet to make sure she does not need antibiotics for an infection. Make sure she is not getting rawhides and is not eating her food to quickly as this can sometimes make it worse
