Pets can certainly behave oddly after ingesting marijuana. They are very sensitive to the effects of this drug, and you may see lethargy, light sensitivity, exaggerated startle reflex, or leaking urine. Small amounts of ingested marijuana do not warrant emergency treatment, instead keep your pet in a cool, dark environment and allow them to rest. If there are still abnormal behaviors in 6-12 hours, or if you pet seems to have trouble breathing or is breathing very slowly, this may be an emergency and you should seek treatment immediately. Large amounts of ingested marijuana can cause coma and death and need emergency treatment. The same applies for synthetic marijuana or ingestion of marijuana "edibles" or products containing marijuana oils. If Daisy appears to be back to normal, she should be fine! However, you now know that you should keep the marijuana well away from her. Many dogs will tear open containers or go hunting for it because they enjoy the taste.
