Why is my sick kitten's eye cloudy and white after treatment?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Longhair | Male | neutered | 2 months and 23 days old | 2.4 lbs

My 11 week old kitten has round worms, an upper respiratory infection, and fleas. He's been getting medicine and got 2 antibiotic and anti infinflammatory shots plus flea medicine. Now his left eye is almost completely white amd cloudy, please tell me what this could be. He is still eating and drinking but he is not interested in playing or moving around.

Upper respiratory infections can be of bacterial or viral origin or both. Cloudy, inflammed, and runny eyes in a kitten is a symptom of a viral respiratory infection like herpes, calici, or chlamydia virus. Oftentimes there symptoms will resolve with appropriate supportive care, which it sounds like Chester is already receiving. If the eye looks severe you may consider taking him back to the vet to have it checked because a corneal ulceration can for and will need to be treated. I'm sorry you're having to go through all this with your new kitten but it sounds like you are on the right track. Good luck.
