Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Shorthair | Male | neutered | 7 years and 3 months old | 12 lbs
My Cat Wred (Red) has feline herpes. I am inbetween jobs at the moment and cannot afford the l-lysine paste that was helping him out before. Is there anything that may be cheaper that could help with the symptoms? Also, his eyes are a little puffy and red, due to his condition, can I use human eye drops on him to help relieve his discomfort? Maybe just a simple saline solution? Thanks!

You can certainly use saline solution to help clear out the eyes. You may also consider getting some artificial tears or GenTeal to keep the eyes moist and clear. You may be able to see if there is a lysine supplement and a human vitamin store to tide you over until you can get some from the vet.
