Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Small (up to 22lb) | Male | neutered | 3 years and 9 months old | 18 lbs
Hello. I am having problems with my neutered 4-year old Boston Terrier-Rat Terrier Mix Male marking (peeing) on just about everything in the house, especially on my bed. Friends have suggested getting diapers for him, but I don't want to subject him to the discomfort. Any ideas on how I can resolve this? He is literally peeing on everything and anything. He does pee outside normal also.

I would take Batman to your veterinarian to have him examined first to rule out a medical problem. Urinary tract infections are not common in male dogs but are possible, as are bladder stones or anatomical abnormalities.

He may be urine marking to mark his territory. If he is not neutered than you should have him neutered as that may help the situation. If he is neutered than have your vet check a urine sample to make sure he does not have an infection or have a disease that makes him urinate more. If your vet can not find a medical reason than it is behavioral and your vet could prescribe a medication, like Prozac or Trazodone, to see if that helps. Your could also try an Adaptil collar to see if that helps, too. You could also make him wear a male belly band when inside to prevent him from marking. http://www.adaptil.com/us/#redirected
