Why is my dog coughing and gagging for a week, worse at night?

My pet is having cough problems from a week, as like she wants to vomit but she doesn't do it , it's happening from a week, and this tendency get higher during night, what might be the problem. Pet's info: Dog | Labrador Retriever | Female | 1 month and 22 days old | 46.29 lbs

Coughing could be caused by several different things. The source of the cough is the most important thing to determine - meaning is it primarily a respiratory problem or a cardiac problem. Based on Lucy's age I would assume that her cough is more respiratory in nature. I would recommend taking her to the vet to be checked out. She may need some medication like antibiotics and a cough suppressant to help her get well. Depending on the severity of her cough your vet may also recommend chest X-rays as well. Best of luck!
