What to do if my new kitten is coughing, wheezing, and has eye gunk?

Just got this kitten. Figure he is about 8 wks old. He has a bad cough wheezing and cold in his eyes What can I do for this baby?

Wiley is very cute! It sounds like he probably has an upper respiratory infection - this is a very common problem in kittens. He will need prescription antibiotics to treat the infection, so I would recommend taking him to the vet for an exam as soon as you are able to. In the meantime, you can use a warm washcloth to gently clean the discharge away from his eyes as often as needed. You can also try bringing him into the bathroom with you while you take a hot shower - the steam and humidity often help to relieve nasal congestion and may make him feel a bit better until you are able to see the vet.
