My dog has fleas, itching and bleeding. What's the best treatment?

My dog is allergic to fleas. She recently has had an encounter with quite a few. We bought Adams flea spray and shampoo but had no success. She is itching herself so bad that she is making herself bleed all over her body. We are guessing the fleas are making their way into her ears as we are seeing blood come from those too. We've taken her to the vet in the past for the same reason but they charged several of hundreds of dollars for a shot and pills that never ended up working. Please help us. If you have a flea infestation, home remedies like Adam's flea spray will not be successful. I would recommend talking to your vet about an oral flea medication like Bravecto, Nexgard, or Comfortis. These are very effective and can start killing fleas in 30 minutes. I would also recommend vacuuming all carpeted areas in your house and washing all of the pet's bedding. Even with the best flea control (like those mentioned above) it can take up to 2-3 months to get the flea problem under control. Make sure you treat all the other pets in the household as well. Additinally it sounds like your dog has a skin infection that will need to be treated as well, probably with antibiotics and something to control the itch while the flea medication starts to work. A medicated shampoo may be beneficial as well.
