My puppy isn't eating much and threw up. Should I take her to the vet?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Female | spayed | 5 months and 20 days old | 10.6 lbs

My puppy hasn't finished food all day. She's eating it's just only half. she didn't finish her brkfast so I fed her a little earlier than her usual dinner time. Yesterday she threw up what looked like the inside of a boiled egg it was only a dime size there was no gagging noise it just fell out of her mouth. She's acting fine as far as pottying, drinking water, playful, my mom told me she didn't sleep at all last night but there has been no other vomiting. Should I just wait it out?

Since there are no other symptoms right now, watching her for tonight is a reasonable option. If you do notice any vomiting or diarrhea then take her or if the lethargy and deceased appetite continue tomorrow then I would bring her to the vet for a parvo test and some blood work. With her being that little, she can get weak if not eating due to a decrease in blood sugar, so be sure to monitor her attitude and activity.
