What's this weepy, lumpy sore on my dog's face causing hair loss?

My dog has quite a large lumped sore on his face it's very weepy and fiery. The hair has started to come out in that area.

It looks like he has an infection. If there is a lump underneath then it could be an abscess or possibly just a hot spot with some inflamed skin underneath. Have your vet take a look at him to determine the cause. Your vet can shave the hair and then determine the best way to treat. He may need an antibiotic, antihistamine, and a corticosteroid to treat. He also could have an ear infection that may need to be treated and your vet can examine his ear. Hope he gets better soon!
