What's this weepy, lumpy sore on my dog's face causing hair loss?

My dog has quite a large lumped sore on his face it's very weepy and fiery. The hair has started to come out in that area. Pet's info: Dog | Golden Labrador | Male | unneutered | 8 years and 5 months old

It looks like he has an infection. If there is a lump underneath then it could be an abscess or possibly just a hot spot with some inflamed skin underneath. Have your vet take a look at him to determine the cause. Your vet can shave the hair and then determine the best way to treat. He may need an antibiotic, antihistamine, and a corticosteroid to treat. He also could have an ear infection that may need to be treated and your vet can examine his ear. Hope he gets better soon!
