What sedative can I give my old dog for car travel anxiety relief?

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Medium (23 - 60lb) | Male | unneutered | 57 lbs

My dog is 15/16 years old and this wil be his last holiday at the coast but he's doesn't like the car journey and It stresses him is there a sedative I can give him to put him to sleep or relax him? I've tried herbal stuff and it doesn't work

Poor Elvis! Some dogs do get extremely stressed and anxious on car trips - I can definitely sympathize. If you have tried natural calming supplements and herbal remedies without much luck, I would strongly suggest talking with your regular veterinarian about prescription medication such as trazodone or alprazolam to use for the car ride. These will both be much more effective than anything that you can get over the counter, since unfortunately there aren't many other OTC options apart from the things you have already tried.
